Updated: 10 hours ago

At this free, one-day symposium celebrating the history of Fauquier County, Ava Lee, vice president of the Fauquier Heritage and Preservation Foundation, will be discussing the genealogical and historical research opportunities, assistance, and the extensive resources available at the organization’s John K. Gott Library in Marshall.

The library’s collections consist of research files from the life’s work of several published local historians who have studied Fauquier County as well as detailed land records, grant and plats, maps, ledgers of stores and businesses, surname and place indexes going back to the early 1700s, and photo archives from the Fauquier Democrat newspaper.
